Carole is known for her entertainment experience, trend licensing acumen, fashion branding and retail expertise. Prior to founding Spotlight Licensing, Carole founded CopCorp Licensing, over 23 years ago and co-founded Knockout Licensing in 2012. Under Carole’s leadership, thanks to her 14 years representing movie, television and animation programming from Warner Bros, coupled with her fashion brand and entertainment consulting experience, Carole built a reputation within the licensing industry for creating successful branding and licensing programs for trend-licensing non-media based properties including billion-dollar brand Jim Benton’s It’s Happy Bunny and international fashion brand Pink Cookie. More recently, Carole gained industry recognition for innovative and strategic management of leading television/entertainment properties highlighted by huge licensing success with Downton Abbey and Outlander.
Carole is a nine-time LIMA Licensing Excellence Award winner (including 2004 “Art Brand License of the Year” and 2015 “Best Overall Film, Television, or Entertainment Live Action Licensing Program of the Year”). Prior to founding CopCorp Licensing, Carole served as Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Licensing for the Americas for the Children’s Television Workshop (now called Sesame Workshop). Carole is on the Board of Directors for the non-profit organization Delivering Good. She also served as an Officer and on the Board of Directors for LIMA, the licensing industry trade association, for over 15 years.
As Senior Vice President, Jodi is responsible for overseeing a wide range of essential internal and external agency functions. Jodi is well-known and widely respected in the industry for her keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality seen in her work managing Spotlight clients, licensees, and vendors. One of Jodi’s key responsibilities is soliciting new manufacturing and retail partners and working with those partners and attorneys to generate and negotiate contracts. Once partners are on board, Jodi works with them to develop and implement strategic brand initiatives as well as licensee and retailer merchandising initiatives. Jodi is the primary contact for product development and approvals and, in that role, monitors licensee adherence to quality, copyright, and style guide standards. Jodi plays a hands-on role in tracking, collecting and reporting royalties on a global basis and is instrumental in projections, audits and other financial matters. Jodi supervises booth design, logistics and other aspects of the agency’s presence and presentation of client properties at industry trade shows, retailer expos, client /agency presentations, and other industry-related events across the country and around the world.
Jodi’s prior experience in the licensing industry includes work as the licensing liaison at Blitzz International where licenses were held with The Walt Disney Company, Warner Bros., Nickelodeon, and The Coca-Cola Company, among others. Before joining Blitzz, Jodi was a buyer for licensed products and accessories for five years. In addition to her work on behalf of Spotlight, Jodi holds a leadership role in an animal rescue organization where she is dedicated to pet adoption and takes unwanted, abandoned, abused, or stray pets and attempts to find suitable homes for them.
Ken is an award-winning marketing communications professional with more than 20 years experience planning and executing successful public relations, advertising, and marketing programs. As Director of Marketing, Ken oversees Spotlight’s publicity and marketing efforts; is responsible for graphic design and copy writing for all of the agency’s sales materials, presentations, and graphics and keeping licensees as well as partner retailers and affiliated sub-agencies apprised of marketing, advertising, promotional and licensing activities related to client properties.
Prior to his work in the licensing industry, Ken ran his own PR firm after previously honing his craft at global agencies Burson-Marsteller and GCI among others. Ken is a freelance writer and self-published cartoonist. He has served as a Guest Curator and past President (2005-07) at the nonprofit Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art (MoCCA) in New York City. He is a graduate of Brown University.
Alex serves as a West Coast Sales Affiliate with the Spotlight team, with over 25 years in brand building and licensing consumer products. Having represented elite lifestyle designers, brands, archives, characters and technology, Alex is a match maker, pairing creative content with companies across industries and categories, and has represented properties that have garnered LIMA’s top awards and nominations as well as listing in the License Global “Top 150 Licensors”.
Spotlight Licensing President Carole Postal is proud to serve as an Executive Board member for Delivering Good and to Co-Chair the organization’s annual Women of Inspiration Luncheon.
Since 1985, Delivering Good has been providing new merchandise to people impacted by poverty and tragedy around the world.
